Invitation to Attend ADR and Arbitration in the Construction Industry Seminar
发布时间: 2019-03-07 13:36
BIAMC is a non-profit service center located both in Bali and Jakarta devoted to international dispute settlement through arbitration, mediation, or fact-finding. We welcome all international arbitration and mediation centers to conduct their proceedings (hearings, meetings, preparations, etc) at our premier centers at their leisure and with full control of all processes.
It is with great pleasure that I personally invite you to our seminar on “ADR and Arbitration in the Construction Industry” which will be held on March 14th, 2019.
This one-day seminar is usually attended by around 50 people from various background such as notable executives, in-house counsels (from both local and multinational companies), lawyers (from both global and boutique law firms), renowned academics, contract managers, contractors, subcontractors, developers and other construction professional, and aspiring law students.
As you well know, most construction contracts now include an alternative dispute resolution or ADR clause that requires the parties to resolve all disputes by arbitration rather than by going to court. Especially in Indonesia, litigation has become extremely costly and time consuming. Additionally, construction disputes often involve subject matter that is beyond the experience of most traditional judges and jury members.
No doubt, the construction industry gives rise to a very wide range of disputes. A well-drafted arbitration clause can help disputing parties resolve construction contract disputes quickly and cost-effectively, allowing your construction projects to continue without major disruptions.
BIAMC is committed to providing valuable ADR support to construction firms in Indonesia, evidenced by the international standard of tutors, lecturers, and experts we source. Our speakers for this seminar are Ben Bury from HFW Hong Kong, who has assisted clients to resolve disputes arising out of complex and high value construction projects, and Andi Kadir from HHP-Baker McKenzie, who has extensively represented multinational corporations and local companies in domestic and international arbitration, complex litigation proceedings, court-sanctioned debt restructuring processes (PKPU), and bankruptcy/insolvency litigation.
